The Port Coquitlam Sports Alliance (PoCo Sport) was developed as a result of the 2010 Sport Summit and building from the original Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association.  This event brought together leaders from City Council, School District 43, and the local sport clubs for a collaborative discussion on building a strong sport culture.

The unanimous outcome was a desire to have “one single voice for sport” that services the entire local sport community. The voice is inclusive for all athletes balancing the needs of both young and old as well as recreational to elite.   There was an expressed need for a well organized group to act as the “glue” between sport clubs, city programs and policies, and the school district.

PoCo Sport has brought together local experts in community recreation and sport business to service our community.  The staff and board have extensive experience in: policies and procedures, club building, event management, sponsorship, retail sales, public and media relations, coaching, officiating, athlete development, and pathway programming.

We provide a large number of programs and services to the local sport clubs and their teams. If you are a club, team, or athlete that is based in Port Coquitlam, or if you are a Tri-City based team accessing Port Coquitlam facilities, you are eligible for the multiple programs and services.  We are also partnered with School District 43, servicing their team and events needs.  If you are a local athlete, coach or parent affiliated with a Port Coqutilam based School District 43 institution, please connect with your school’s athletic director on how to access our services.
